TRACK AND FIELD OBJECTIVES:

Psychomotor:

Students will demonstrate proper form and technique while performing the following skill:

  • Running
  • Baton hand off
  • Hurdles
  • Shot pot
  • Long jump

Cognitive:

The students will be able to:

  • Identify the difference between events (Sprints, Middle Distance, Distance, Hurdles, and relays)
  • Use appropriate terminology
  • Distinguish the various opportunities to compete in track and field

Affective:

The students will:

  • Communicate with peers in a positive and productive manner
  • Exhibit leadership
  • Understand importance of followership
  • Demonstrate accountability for responsibilities to their peers
  • Appreciate the importance of engaging in lifetime activities to promote wellness
