OBJECTIVES:

Psychomotor:

The students will:

  • Participate in various tag games
  • Demonstrate proper spotting technique for ground-based activities, low and high elements
  • Be able to climb various ascending elements
  • Physically support (spot) others

Cognitive:

The students will be able to:

  • Identify the life skills needed to achieve success in a group
  • Recite the commands for climbing and trust activities
  • Identify the 3 levels of comfort (comfort, risk, and panic)

Affective:

The students will be able to:

  • Become active listeners
  • Demonstrate decision making skills
  • Employ strategies to improve communication and listening skills
  • Evaluate and assess effectiveness of group strategies
  • Respect that others may have different, but equally important needs
  • Appreciate the need to step outside his/her comfort zone to experience personal growth.
  • Deliver and accept feedback from peers.
  • Care about the physical and emotional safety of others.
  • Communicate with others in a positive and productive manner
  • Actively contribute to the cooperative success of a group to attain a common goal.
  • Understand the importance of getting to know someone before making judgment on someone’s character
